High Probability of Severe Weather in the OH/TN Valleys

An active severe weather day is on tap for the lower OH & TN Valley region today as a surface cyclone ejects to the NE, winding a warm front northward and a cold front eastward.  Rich moisture (better than the previous events we have seen), stronger instability, and impressive shear look to be in place during the afternoon and evening hours, setting the stage for an outbreak of severe/tornadic storms.  Very fast storm motions could help produce some longer track tornadoes if they do indeed form.  Severe season continues to wind up with a series of severe episodes early in the year for areas this far north.  Attached the Significant Tornado Parameter map for today.    -Dave
